Quiet, without giving up the beaches
The house sits in the hills above Porto-Vecchio, surrounded by cork oaks and maquis. Nothing overlooks it and it shares no walls: you hear the cicadas, and not much else.
The great southern beaches — Palombaggia, Santa Giulia, Tamaricciu — are about ten minutes away by car. Leave in the morning with the towels, come back for lunch in the shade of the pergola, and head out again when the sun drops.

The terrace is the extra room
Covered, facing the garden, with a built stone barbecue and a large table: this is where most summer meals happen. The curtains soften the midday light, and the wooden bench takes care of the siesta.

What to know before booking
A car is essential
The house is not within walking distance of the beaches or the shops, and there is no useful public transport. Plan on having a car for the whole stay.
Three people, not four
One double bed and one single bed. The house suits a couple with a child, or three adults who know each other well.
Saturday to Saturday
Arrivals and departures are on Saturdays, with a seven-night minimum. That is the standard rhythm for summer rentals in Corsica.
No pool, no sea view
This is a simple, well-kept holiday house in the greenery. If you are after a pool or a panorama over the gulf, this is not the place.
